Hydros RDWC system

Professional HYDRO system with minimal maintenance and maximum yields.

Maximum availability of nutrients / "All you can eat for flowers"

In the RDWC system, the roots are immersed directly in the nutrient solution, which ensures the plants unlimited access to nutrients. The system thus offers the most efficient plant fertilization.

Perfect oxygenation of the roots

Sufficient oxygen in the system is ensured by an ultra-quiet air pump that pumps 20 liters of air per minute into the system. The roots thus have an ideal oxygen ratio directly in the nutrient solution.

Stable EC and PH values

The recirculation function of the system ensures a constant flow of the nutrient solution between all growing containers. Unlike DWC, it doesn't matter how fast a plant receives nutrients, because they grow de facto in one large common tank and you don't have to monitor each one separately. A large volume of common nutrient solution ensures a stable environment and prevents sudden fluctuations in EC and pH values.

Easy operation and minimal maintenance

The system was developed from the beginning with the aim of achieving higher efficiency and at the same time simplicity compared to the previous technology. It is easy to fill, drain and maintain with only one container, regardless of the number of plants grown.

What is RDWC? (Recirculating Deep Water Culture)

RDWC is the king among hydroponic systems. It was created by improving the popular bubbler, the basis of which is the cultivation of plants with roots immersed directly in containers with a nutrient solution that is intensively oxygenated. The plants thus have constant access to water and nutrients, and the roots at the same time enough oxygen. These conditions enable the fastest possible growth and the most effective fattening of flowers. It is therefore not surprising that growers achieve the highest yields and concentrations of secondary metabolites in these systems. The system does not require the use of a substrate and you only need a few handfuls of expanded clay to attach the plants to the hydroponic baskets. You can therefore grow from clones without the need for a substrate, which reduces costs and the risk of soil pests that cannot survive purely in water. In the case of the RDWC system, in addition, all containers are interconnected and the nutrient solution is constantly circulated between them. This feature maintains stable solution values for all plants, promotes oxygenation and allows for easy system control with a single additional container. It therefore offers easy operation and even higher efficiency. RDWC systems are ready for easy connection of a tank for automatic replenishment of the nutrient solution, and a chiller for maintaining its stable temperature.

Tips for maximum growing success in RDWC

Cleaning the flow filter (necessary maintenance)

Regularly check and, if necessary, clean the flow filter (at least every 2 weeks) - if you add substances of organic origin, check once a week

System disinfection

The preventive application of hypochlorous acid (Total Care) twice a week maintains a 100% sterile environment for the roots, which accelerates the development of the roots and completely eliminates the risk of root rot.

Changing the nutrient solution

To ensure optimal conditions and availability of all nutrients, perform a complete change of the nutrient solution every 7 - 10 days.

Control of EC and pH values

In the RDWC system, the roots grow directly in the nutrient solution, and its quality is thus essential for healthy plant development. With a regular EC and PH check, you are always sure that the plants have everything they need. Use the AquaMaster Tools P110 PRO for easy measurements.

The temperature of the nutrient solution

The correct temperature of the nutrient solution is essential for healthy root development and efficient nutrient uptake. Too high increases the risk of root rot and too low slows down plant development. The optimal temperature range of the nutrient solution is 19 - 21°C. For automatic cooling of the nutrient solution, use a chiller, for heating the heater in the tank.

FAQ

What are the ideal EC and pH values for growing in the RDWC system?

Keep pH values in the range of 5.5 - 6.5 for optimal nutrient availability. Adjust EC according to your fertilizer manufacturer's recommendations and the visible condition of the plants.

How to adjust the EC or pH values in the RDWC system?

EC - if it is lower, add fertilizers until you reach the desired value. If the EC is too high, add clean water to the nutrient solution to lower the values. PH - use ph - or ph + products for adjustment - add them in small doses, ideally diluted with water, and always wait a while for the solution to mix sufficiently.

Why is it important to change the nutrient solution in the RDWC system?

Plants take different elements from the nutrient solution according to what they need, which can cause an excess or lack of certain elements in the long run. By regularly changing the complete nutrient solution, you ensure that the plants have balanced nutrient ratios at all times.
