The Apogee Instruments MQ-610 PARmeter is a cable-connected handheld PPFD meter that displays and stores measurements. The sensor head has a fully potted, domed design, making it fully waterproof, weatherproof and self-cleaning.

Typical applications include measuring PPFD at the top of plants both in outdoor cultivation and in greenhouses and grow chambers. Quantum sensors are also used to measure PAR/PPFD in aquatic environments, including saltwater aquariums where corals are grown.

The meter has a sampling and logging mode and records the integrated daily total in mol m ^-2 d ^-1 . . Log mode turns the meter on and off to take measurements every 30 seconds. Every 30 minutes the instrument takes sixty 30i-second measurements and records the average value in memory. The meter can store up to 99 diameters. Once filled, it will start overwriting the oldest measurements with new ones.

The integrated daily total will be recorded from 48 averaged measurements (over 24 hours). Sample measurements and logs can be viewed on the LCD screen or by downloading the data to a computer, but the integrated daily total can only be viewed by downloading the data to a computer using the special AC-100 communication cable (a standard USB cable will not work) and the ApogeeAMS software.
