Unlike commonly available pH regulators on the market , pH Down is not an ordinary acid. It is a precise composition of elements that regulates and supplies nutrients and buffers the nutrient solution, all at once. Along with a balanced mix of acids, we've incorporated buffers designed to stabilize the PH and help manage the calcium content of hard waters.

pH regulators are suitable for all growing methods: hydroponics and soil.

Addressing pH is important for several reasons:

• A high pH condition promotes the uptake of cations.
• The low state promotes anion uptake.
• When choosing a pH, we recommend sticking to a value between 5.5 and 6.2.

pH Down is not a regular acid like most products on the market. Every grower has a wish list that would make their life easier. At the very top of the list is a pH buffer that would work so well that we could go on vacation for two weeks and the pH of the nutrient solution would still be the same when we returned. The problem is that this can only be achieved when the nutrition is poor, when there isn't much activity going on in the solution, and when your plants are growing at an average rate. If the growth is to be fast and there is removal of a large amount of ions and all the complex interactions in solution, such stability is unthinkable. But today we are no longer at a loss.

Today we can achieve satisfactory stability and at the same time other advantages. A solution with good pH control is one where you adjust the pH only once, at system startup. We do not claim that we have achieved exactly this, and not in every situation and with every nutrient. But when it comes to pH control that we have tried in our greenhouses using pH Down products in combination with TriPart Series nutrition and Silicate Powder, plants have been growing for several weeks without the need for pH adjustment.
